Cobb's Mill is actually fashioned after the Glade Creek
Grist Mill located at Babcock State Park in Clifftop, West
Virginia. My maiden name being "Cobb", I named my
Mill "Cobb's Mill" to pay tribute to my family.

After being blessed with seeing a Bald Eagle, the
symbol of our great country, take flight before me, I
simply had to paint the majestic creature.

Raccoons may be mischievous but I can't help loving the
little "Bandits". They are clever enough to avoid our dog
and often our cameras and yet manage to raid our bird
feeders repeatedly.

What can I say? It was late and I have a rather warped
imagination. No one should always be serious.

Living in a rural area, the silence of a winter morning can
leave you wondering if you are alone in the world. Then
suddenly a Blue Jay's voice shatters the silence and you
realize that you are in a very special place.

The land in my log cabin painting is actually part of
"Shadow's Mountain,"our small Fayette County farm in
Southern West Virginia. We named it for "Shadow", a
large Belgian Shepherd who was living there but was
gracious enough to share his home with us.

"Relaxation"
I enjoy taking pictures from different perspectives. Upon
viewing some I had taken at ground level, I couldn't help
imagining a little Gnome seeking shelter and relaxing while
waiting for the rain to pass.

"Simplicity" was inspired by photos my
sister took for me while vacationing in
the Tennessee mountains. To me, it's
the simple things...quiet times, nature,
and the love of those who think of us
and want to share their joy with us that
make life worthwhile.

Each year a single sunflower grows beneath my bird feeder...
Considering how it seems to act as a neon "Cafe" sign for the
birds, sometimes I wonder if they plant it.
"The Dowager Inn"

Acrylic on Stretched Cotton Canvas
I began "The Dowager Inn" painting with
something totally different in mind. However,
the painting soon began to take on a life of It's
own. It is my belief that everything happens for
a reason and whenever a particular image
keeps entering my thoughts, perhaps it will be
very special to someone and I should paint it.
Perhaps it was meant for you.

"Remembering" is based on an old mill we
stumbled across while out for a drive. There
were several other old buildings around it,
giving you a feeling of returning to an earlier,
simpler time.
"Remembering"
I painted, "The Rose" in memory of my Grandmother who had a pink
rose bush and often gifted me with the Season's first rose.

Living at the edge of the woods, we have
many curious (furry) visitors. They have
come to realize that we won't hurt them
and often leave them treats. It's always a
special treat for me whenever I turn to see
a deer quietly watching me.

My "Grandpa's Sanctuary" drawing was
inspired by the kindness of strangers and
by the stories my grandfather used to tell of
his life on a farm. The farm is based on
photos given to me by a nice lady I met at a
show, and a kind gentleman in another town
permitted me to photograph his antique
truck to use in my work.
